News Release – CEO, Sean Fahey Wins Game Changers Award

NEWS RELEASE:

GAME CHANGERS WINNER SEAN FAHEY ANNOUNCED

Vidcruiter is pleased to announce that its CEO, Sean Fahey, is a winner of the 2012 Game Changers Award with leading HR publication, Workforce.

Located in Chicago IL, Workforce is the leading business publication for workforce management and human resources professionals. They announced yesterday their 2012 Game Changers Award winners and Sean Fahey was the only Canadian to win this prestigious Award.  The award recognizes the next generation of innovative, dynamic leaders to watch in human resources and workplace management. The winners are all rising stars, 40 years old and younger, who are making their mark in human resources and other areas of workplace management. They come from corporations and startups  across  the  globe,  all  finding  innovative  ways  to  leap  one  step  ahead  of  the  competition.

“The Game Changers award allows Workforce the opportunity to honor and learn from key individuals in or supporting the human resources function and businesses overall.  This year’s winning individuals, again, represent a variety of talents with impressive results.  I look forward to Workforce’s ongoing conversations with our 2012 Game Changers,” said Andrea Whitney, director of content strategy from Workforce.

Sean has succeeded to develop a product that can help companies and HR managers save countless amounts of time and money during the hiring process.  It represents a new way of doing recruitment that will have significant impact on companies in all industries. This innovative idea was created when Fahey faced a challenge of hiring 200 people for a Canadian insurance company before Vidcruiter was founded back in 2009. When asked about this, Fahey responded: “I just realized that if I was going to recruit the old-fashioned way—by looking at résumés, doing phone calls and meeting people in person—it was going to take forever. I needed a tool that would filter, rank, sort, and check the references of my candidates in order to streamline the hiring process (…) ”.

The 2012 Game Changer Awards winners will be featured in the December issue of Workforce Management magazine and online at www.workforce.com.

Vidcruiter Wins Award for Most Innovative Start-Up

Vidcruiter – Banking On the Promises of Innovation

Innovation is the only way to find new business opportunities. Technology, the Internet, and globalization are changing how wealth is generated, and consequently how jobs are created. Vidcruiter might be a start-up but it has enormous potential, a potential that is bound to be maximized very soon.

As new businesses are arising there is also increasing opportunities to open new services, new offerings that can help organizations run better. Innovation falsifies the long standing belief that business ideas are running out. Every step a business makes means new ways to propose a new product and a better line of service that can produce better results at a lower cost. Every leap in technology is a new field that can be improved, added on. This is what Vidcruiter did, moving with the tide of change and zeroing on emerging needs. What you get is a company that is out-learning the very market that it serves. But this does not impact its clients negatively. In fact it builds on their desire to grow and compete better.

We are pleased to announce that Vidcruiter was awarded as the most innovative start-up in New-Brunswick 2012 as part of the Department of Economic Development’s Innov8 Awards. It is an impressive win considering the size of Vidcruiter. But in today’s business landscape size is the last determinant of success. It is always about the core idea of the business and the potential of that idea to generate profits and growth. Some industries are seeing a gloomy future but Vidcruiter is simply in a road to success, in a route that merges right into making business operations less costly and more practical.
The most innovative start-up award is surely not the only one lined for this company. It only marks its entry into the global business stage. With innovative services, practical products, and timely offerings Vidcruiter is bound to grow and flourish in a world that wants to simplify complicated processes. It will exploit a business climate that embrace productivity and shuns unnecessary cost, wasted time, and underutilized human capital.

How VidCruiter Came About: Sean Fahey and the Beginning of Intelligent Video Recruiting

HR departments of companies that are highly satisfied with VidCruitermay take their recruitment as a matter of course, but knowing the background to the development of one of the most advanced hiring platforms on the market today could further enhance their experience. VidCruiterwas founded in 2009 but the story begins much earlier with Sean Fahey who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of Moncton in 2004 and started his MBA program at Florida Atlantic University.

Recruiters whose jobs have been made easier by talent interviewing tools of VidCruiter owe much of their good experience to Sean Fahey whose entrepreneurial bent gave them the product they needed. Mr. Fahey started with a small retail business which eventually grew in Canada and the US. He moved to Toronto in 2007 and began to expand his business, but recession hit in 2008.

After closing shop the next year Mr. Fahey was hired by an insurance firm to recruit sales agents across Canada. It was during his stint here that he discovered the need for an online employment filtering toolthat could streamline the hiring process. Thus was born the idea of VidCruiter.

Mr. Fahey’s software solution to virtual interviews, however, did not take off dramatically so he moved back to Moncton in 2010 to focus on a more tech-oriented business model. Price cuts, a subscription model, commissions, word-of-mouth referrals and a viral campaign resulted in a high volume of sales. The revised business model continues to work well as more companies try VidCruiter. Now Mr. Fahey is poised to launch an aggressive marketing plan in March 2012 to enhance the recruiting experience of still more companies. This is just a brief summary of the successful story of Mr. Fahey.
