Video interviews are becoming the most common method of interviewing employed by companies today when hiring new personnel. It is imperative, therefore job applicants will need to know how to go about completing a video interview to ultimately pass to the second round of interviews.
In a pre-recorded interview you should treat it the same way as treating your potential employer in a face-to-face interview
Never let your guard down even in an instant because although these aren’t live interviews, the recruiting officer will scrutinize every second of your video: the way you answer the questions, your facial expressions, etc. It’s really akin to an in-person interview
Another tip here would be to look presentable as these aren’t just audio responses but also video responses, so you must look neat on the webcam.
If you can, have a sort of 15-minute exercise before you record your video response so you won’t look nervous on the webcam. Recruiting officers can tell that, and looking awkward or nervous may be an unwanted characteristic for a new hire.
You need to remain confident in your video responses. But don’t confuse confidence with being conceited. Just be natural as if conversing with your mom or dad.
Video interviewing products are competing among companies for all types of hiring. A little knowledge of this software can be an advantage to you if you are applying for a job. It’s best to be prepared for an online video interview because they are quite different from the phone interview conducted in older times.
