- applicant hiring system, automated recruiting, new applicant tracking, talent hiring system
I have been reading a lot lately about how computers are getting smarter and smarter. Most of us saw IBM’s Watson compete on Jeopardy a few months back and beat us (the humans) hands down. As I learn more about AI (Artificial Intelligence) and the future of technology I also think a lot about the Future of HR.
I recently read an article about how the CEO of Taleo was quoted saying: “In the future the job will find you”. I found this to be very interesting and started to contemplate how this would affect our business and also the future of HR.
If an automated system existed that paired a job with the ideal candidate recruiters would not be needed at all. However such technology is years away and presently the best product for HR departments to use is the video interview.
VidCruiter is continuously perfecting our hiring platform to better serve all your hiring needs.
The featured product we offer is our video interview solution which allows candidates to watch a recruiter, (or actor), asking pre-recorded interview questions and having the applicant respond via web-cam on their own time. The questions can also be asked by text, but utilizing video improves adoption and branding. Month after month more and more businesses are taking advantage of this product. Wal-Mart alone saved 2.1 million dollars in the last year, and our system is actually more advanced and affordable than the product they used. (see previous Wal-Mart blog here)
With our service you no longer have to conduct phone interviews, saving you substantial amounts of both time and money, and if you are in the habit of flying candidates in for interviews, the video software enables you to screen them online ahead of time.
Another solution you can implement is text based video interviewing.
When applicants respond by text while watching interview questions via video they have the impression of being in a real interview. This extra feature offered by VidCruiter allows companies to interview candidates without having to worry about discrimination lawsuits.
Imagine that you have hired all your staff using VidCruiter and now VidTrainer starts training them. You can now train all your staff remotely and have them show up on day 1 with a very in-depth knowledge of your organization.
Recruiters who adopt this technology and become adept at using it will become very valuable for companies. They have the potential to become a VidCruiter specialist consultant in the future and offer their services to companies to do their hiring for them. Recruiters should take notice that hiring will become virtual and adopting this technology before others will make all the difference… think of RIM right now VS Apple.
In the future technology will likely exist that will allow the vacant job to find the open candidate automatically, but for now it is in the best interests of HR to use the best product available.
