Training managers all over the world are constantly changing ways and methods to keep up with the rapid pace of training and development evolution. Most organizations today are claiming they are “learning organizations” and that might as well be the default posture, especially in today’s business climate. This entails a heavier burden for training managers. What does it mean to handle training programs of a learning organization? Organizational survival and growth is not ALL about starting better than anyone else anymore, but having the ability to out learn everybody in the industry and get that learning applied to daily operations. Training managers are no longer just managing the training wheel, the usual stuff, but also getting into the nitty-gritty stuff of finding learning solutions that best fit the human capital of the organization. Training managers must plan for the delivery and utilization of learning too and make sure it impacts the organization’s bottom line. And this demands a new thinking. Managing content and executing programs will never suffice anymore.
