Traditional face-to-face applicant assessment interviews are costly both for the recruiter and for the client. Costs such as transportation, the logistics of setting up the venue and taking time from work can arise.
Modern job interviews are now handled by using video interviewing software with the recruiter posting a series of pre-recorded interview questions on recruiting sites. These are to be answered via video by the applicant using an online webcam.
A great advantage for the applicant is that he or she can answer the questions at his or her own convenient time. So there won’t be as much pressure and nervousness on the applicant’s part which are usually present during the face-to-face interviews.
The difference is that the applicant can simply take his time to answer with no actual interviewer on the other end leaving him to say what the truly wishes to communicate to the recruiter. It is safe to say that the applicant and the recruiter both benefit from this form of interviewing.
Another great advantage to mention is that each series of interview questions is generally very similar so there isn’t any bias on the part of the recruiter who may be in a foul mood to interview a particular applicant.
So what other advantages can you think of?
